If you live in the U.S. then I hope you’re coming off of an amazing 3-day weekend. If not, I hope your Monday was as not-horrible as Mondays can possibly be.
I have to say though, my weekend was kind of amazing.
After work on Friday, Jake left L.A., picked me up in Santa Barbara, and we drove back home to Northern California for the long weekend. We didn’t make it home until 2am on Friday (well, technically Saturday), but we totes made the most of our weekend. That wasn’t the only thing Jake made, though. He also made fun of me for saying totes. I think he’s probably just jealous of my hip slang.
I took approximately two decent pictures this weekend. And like, eight other horrible pictures. So sorry about that.
Anyway. The photo-less Saturday started with some lounging around with the ‘rents, and then a girls’ trip with Mama. We started at PF Chang’s for lunch, took my iPhone to the Apple Store at the mall, ran some errands, and eventually got pedis. And I got my eyebrow waxed. Luckily, I now have plural “eyebrows.” I’m so glamourous.
Saturday night, Jake had a party at his house. RAGERRRRR. Mostly, he just wanted an excuse to bust out his DJ equipment. Yes, my boyfriend’s “hobby” is DJing. Yes, he picked the most expensive hobby possible. Yes, he’s kind of hot when he DJs. Honestly though, it was a pretty great night. I saw tons of old friends from high school, which is always fun.
And remember when I mentioned the two awesome pictures I took? Here you go.
Sex-ay. I’m such a talented photog.
Sunday morning, I woke up with makeup smeared all over my face and my contacts dried to my eyeballs. Again, sex-ay.
Sunday was spent….uh… doing stuff? Honestly, even though it’s only Monday night as I write this, I don’t really remember. Probably because I didn’t do anything. That night though, we had people over, and again, it was amazing. The night was too hilarious for me to recap it here, but I will tell you that I ate at least a pound of Party Potatoes (frozen potatoes, tons of cheese, tons of butter, topped with crunchy cornflakes, all baked into ridiculous goodness) and almost peed my pants three times. And I think I snorted liquid out of my nose a few times, too.
Oh yeah. And this happened. Don’t ask. My family and our friends get kind of ridiculous. They made me.
On Monday, the rainy weather forced my me and my parents (Jake was sleeping and little bro was at a friend’s house) to be lazy for a while– are you sensing the theme this weekend? – before running some errands. We then hung around some more, and then I packed up and Jake and I headed home. Sad. But, my internship ends this week, so I’ll be back to see them again on Saturday.
Weekends spent with family, friends, and food cannot be beat. Except now I have a stomachache from road trip food (yeah, I freaking need road trip food for a seven hour drive) and it’s past 10pm and I have work tomorrow morning. Whinnneeeee. I’m pretty bummed about the last week of my internship, but if you remember from this post (probably not), it means that I’m leaving for Italy in just a few short days. Holy shit.
And no. I couldn’t get through a blog post without saying a curse word. I’m going through a phase, okay?
If you’re in the U.S., how did you celebrate the weekend? If not, how was your Monday? Have you ever heard of Party Potatoes?
