Resolutions Check-in: Week 4

1.  Long-term: Dramatically decrease the amount of sugar I consume

Short-term: Break the habit by cutting out all added sugar for 2 weeks

How’d I do on week 4? Check!  It’s somewhat possible that I consumed teeny amounts of sugar when I ate out with my parents, but I tried to make choices that would be least likely to have added sugar.  Though, the pizza dough could have had some honey or something. Probably not, but I’m not that concerned either way.

2. Long-term: Reach my goal weight by the time school is out (mid-June)

Short-term: Follow Weight Watchers every single day, when possible

How’d I do on week 4?  I lost 0 pounds.  Not a surprise.  I didn’t track my food on Weight Watchers Friday or Saturday and I definitely ate more than I needed a few days this week (stress/boredom/procrastination eating).  My weight loss is still at 8.4lbs for 4 weeks, so I’m not that concerned.  I’m aiming for a 1.6 pound weight loss this next week to bring my total up to 10 pounds!

3. Long-term: Stay on top of my schoolwork

Short-term: Spend my class breaks in the library, being uber productive

How’d I do on week 4? With all of the midterms and papers I’ve had, it hasn’t been hard to find stuff to do.  I’ve been keeping up with my work pretty well!  Though, I’d be lying if I told you that I wasn’t counting down the weeks until spring break (8).

4. Long-term: Increase my fitness level: both cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance

Short-term: Work out for at least five hours per week (not including biking/walking to campus) and incorporate a variety of workouts

How’d I do on week 4? I’ve been keeping up with my ellipticalling, strength training, and cardio intervals.   Except now my back is tweaked.  UGH.  This better go away soon.  So annoying.

5. Long-term: Complete my 28 random acts of kindness and incorporate that mindset into my everyday life

Short-term: Go out of my way to do something nice whenever I see an opportunity

How’d I do on week 4?  No picture, but I put some change into an expired meter.  I’m hoping this helped the person avoid an expensive parking ticket!

  1. Keep up the great work! You keep inspiring me with these posts! Love the yogurt and pomegranate pictures.

  2. That pizza up there looks amazing!!! You are doing an awesome job pretty much keeping in check with your 2013 goals. Keep it up!!

  3. You did pretty well overall. I wouldn’t stress about the little things. You’re moving in the right direction and that’s what matters :)

  4. 8.4 pounds in 4 weeks is great! I remember when I had lost about that much (and still had another 4-6 pounds to go to my goal weight) it was hard for me to see/feel a difference, but most people around me commented on my weight loss. Also, you know it’s a marathon, not a sprint, yadda yadda. You’re doing great!

    • Yep, marathon, not a sprint. I’m trying to remind myself of that. I calculated that I needed to lose 1 lb per week in order to reach my goal weight by the time school is out, so I’m ahead of schedule :) .

  5. That pizza looks absolutely amazing!! There is just something so good about a piece (or 2…or 3 ;) ) of just plain and simple cheese pizza. I love it! :)

  6. Keept it up! I hope week 5 goes even better for you!

  7. you can def cut out the added sugar :) I havent had any “sweets” this whole month, and it gets easier!

  8. You are so dedicated to your goals! I think everyone should have to blog about their resolutions – it would probably make them follow them :) I can’t wait to read about you reaching the 10 lbs mark! Yay!

  9. Great work!! I actually thought of you today :D I was eating my yogurt and looking at the sugar, then did it again when I checked out the honey I used using in my tea :) hahaha I usually watch my salt intake though because apparently it’s too low

  10. You are so awesome! I’m glad to see your resolutions are going so well! And where did you eat with your parents? It looks delicious
