I think I set the world record for “Following Resolutions for the Longest Time.” Three weeks?! That’s insanity. No, seriously. Who does this? I’m so impressed with myself!
Another thing I’m impressed with? My incredible modesty. Clearly. (Pause, not.)
P.S. Sorry for any recycled pictures. Just pretend like you’ve never seem ‘em before.
1. Long-term: Dramatically decrease the amount of sugar I consume
Short-term: Break the habit by cutting out all added sugar for 2 weeks
How’d I do on week 3? Another week completed! I actually set myself a new goal: No added sugar until February 20th, which is my and Jake’s anniversary. We’re planning a delicious dinner out at our favorite Davis restaurant and Frozen Yogurt for dessert. I’m counting down the days!
2. Long-term: Reach my goal weight by the time school is out (mid-June)
Short-term: Follow Weight Watchers every single day, when possible
How’d I do on week 3? I lost 3.4 pounds this week! That brings my total up to 8.4 lbs! I literally feel like my body has wanted to drop this weight and now that I’m giving it healthy fuel, it’s just burning through the fat! It feels freaking amazing, you guys.
3. Long-term: Stay on top of my schoolwork
Short-term: Spend my class breaks in the library, being uber productive
How’d I do on week 3? Uhh… Well… It’s soooo boooorrrrring! I’ve been trying through. Does sitting in Starbucks with a tea while perusing notes kind of counts, right?
4. Long-term: Increase my fitness level: both cardiovascular and muscular strength and endurance
Short-term: Work out for at least five hours per week (not including biking/walking to campus) and incorporate a variety of workouts
How’d I do on week 3?
Monday: 40 minutes on the elliptical, 12 minute strength training circuit
Tuesday: 60 minutes on the elliptical
Wednesday: 30 minutes on the elliptical, 30 minute upper body circuit
Thursday: Rest
Friday: 45 minutes on the elliptical, 30 minute treadmill intervals (4.0mph & 9.0mph)
Saturday: 42 minutes on the elliptical, 30 minutes lower body circuit, taught 30 minute Core Fusion class
Sunday: Taught 60 minute Cardio Kickboxing class
5. Long-term: Complete my 28 random acts of kindness and incorporate that mindset into my everyday life
Short-term: Go out of my way to do something nice whenever I see an opportunity
How’d I do on week 3? Check it! Sista did 2 more random acts of kindness this week! Niiiice.

Congrats on your success each week. I think blogging definitely helps me stay accountable when I want to make changes and reach goals. This morning I just made baked oatmeal with no added sugar and enough to be breakfast for the week. Heads up…I just nominated you for the Liebster Award! Thanks for all the inspiration!
January 21, 2013 at 12:13 pm
Yeah, having to blog about it makes a HUGE difference. Thanks for the nomination!

Awesome job, especially on cutting back the sweets! Have you lost your sweet tooth after this long yet?
January 21, 2013 at 12:15 pm
I still get cravings for sweets, but I feel way more in control of my cravings if that makes sense. I don’t think I’ll ever lose my sweet tooth though! However, I think the hardest part would be giving up things like ketchup and most bread. It’s all that hidden added sugar that really makes it tough!
