I’ve clearly been loving the alliteration lately, huh?
I feel like it gives these random posts some direction. Probably not though. I’m not fooling you guys, am I? Nope, didn’t think so.
Let me tell you guys a little bit about my grocery-buying habits. I buy my groceries for exactly one week. I shop every Sunday, and I buy justbarelyenough food to last me until the next Sunday. This makes my Saturday eating habits somewhat… random?
Basically I have to raid the back of the pantry where the dusty cans of diced tomatoes and open bags of brown rice go to die. And I have to make cohesive meals out of those random things. However, they usually end up being the exact opposite of “cohesive.” I don’t even know what the opposite of “cohesive” is. Discontinuous? I don’t know. Basically, my meals make no freaking sense. I end up eating lots of frozen and canned food. Awweeeeesome.

45 minute elliptical session (while watching The Best Thing I Ever Ate; It’s the equivalent of dangling a donut in front of somebody to make them run)

2 pcs of string cheese + 19 almonds eaten on my walk to my other gym
Great fuel for teaching a Core Fusion class

This is what random looks like:
2 crunched up Trader Joe’s Taco Shells
1/4 Cup Lite Mexican Blend Cheese
1/2 Cup Low-Fat Refried Beans, Salsa Style
Maaaannnnn, I can’t wait to have some fresh groceries tomorrow.

Haha I scavenge for food on Saturdays sometimes too but I’ve become more of a daily grocery shopper recently. There are certain staples, like lunchmeat, I buy on Sundays only though and it’s always funny to see what I turn up with for food.

Jeez, I’d be totally broke if I shopped daily. I wouldn’t be able to stop myself from buying random stuff every single day.

My grocery shopping habits are exactly the same!!! I buy so much fresh produce that come Friday, my fridge is barren and I have to resort to oatmeal or canned vegetables
January 20, 2013 at 8:41 am
Exactly! Which is why I’d much rather eat out on the weekends, but I’m trying to save money. So canned beans it is!

Glad I’m not the only one who watches the food network while they workout!
January 20, 2013 at 8:42 am
Hahaha, no at all. It’s the best!

By the end of the week my fridge is sooo empty and I swear I go through a jar of peanut butter or almond butter each week!
January 20, 2013 at 8:42 am
I looove almond butter but I go through it so quickly and it’s so expensive! I need to start buying the cheaper peanut butter. Haha!

I watch the food network while I work out too! And every other minute of the day
You seem to do a pretty good job of finding things to eat when there’s nothing in the house! I find that’s when the most creative combos end up happening.

The Food Network is the best!

Looks like you had no problem finding seats at the game!!
January 20, 2013 at 7:50 pm
Haha, none at all.

I love the food network! Have a great week

Something about watching people cook is just so relaxing. Plus, who doesn’t love looking at food all day?
January 20, 2013 at 4:30 pm
Ha ha! I totally know that feeling. We have days (usually Friday and Saturday) where there is next to nothing left and I am combing veggie burgers, rice, and veggies in a bowl to call lunch. Happy shopping!

It makes me really appreciate having a fully stocked fridge!
January 21, 2013 at 5:40 am
Yup! I think it is a tribute to all of the produce we buy and eat. When I was eating more processed food, I never had that problem.
January 21, 2013 at 12:12 pm
So true! Produce goes bad so quickly so it’s hard to make it last more than a week!
January 20, 2013 at 7:08 pm
That sandwich looks so simple, yet so good…totally my style!
January 20, 2013 at 7:52 pm
Simple is usually better in my book
.

I used to love watching the food network when I would be on the treadmill. Even though I was drooling most of the time over the delicious dishes, it actually made the time go by so quickly.
January 21, 2013 at 12:11 pm
It really does. I think we just get so entranced by the food, we forget that we’re working out
